Dionte Dean is in his fourth season as defensive backs coach at Ouachita Baptist. Dean makes his way to Arkadelphia after spending a season as the offensive coordinator, and quarterbacks and wide receivers coach at Blinn Junior College.
Dean began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at East Central University. While working at ECU, he helped with the defensive backs and wide receiver units. In his final season in Ada, the Tigers won the 2010 Lone Star Conference title.Â
Dean then spent six seasons at Cisco College, where he wore a variety of hats, including that of head coach from 2014-2016.Â
During his one-year stint at Blinn, Dean helped the Buccaneers to a conference championship.
During his nine-year coaching career, Dean has coached one All-American, 14-All-
Conference selections and two players who have reached the NFL.
Dean was a three-sport athlete in high school, competing in football, baseball and track. He went on to become an All-Conference safety at Tyler Junior College and earned an All-Lone Star nod at East Central after leading the Tigers in tackles and interceptions his senior year.
Dean is married to Leslie of Canyon, Texas. Leslie played collegiate softball at Texas A&M Corpus Christi and was Elected into the Dee Henry Texas Panhandle Hall of Fame Honor for Pitching. The couple has a daughter, Madison, and a son, Kyler.
Dean is the son of Twondlyn Carhee and Willie Green. Green played wide receiver at Mississippi and was selected in the eighth round of the 1990 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions. Green went on to play nine seasons in the NFL and won two Super Bowls with the Denver Broncos.
