Johnny Baker ended his career as the leading rusher in Ouachita Tiger football history with 4,357 yards, a record that still stands today.
Baker is also in the top 10 of the Ouachita career record book in rushing touchdowns (8th-32) and total offense (4th-5,718). He had what was then the best rushing season in school history in 1970 with 1,614 yards, which ranks third today. His 1,288 yards in 1971 ranks fifth.
Baker was a three-time All-Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference selection and was a second-team All-American after his senior season in 1972.
