WARRENSBURG, Mo.- The Ouachita Baptist wrestling team recently competed in the 2011 University of Central Missouri Dual Jamboree on Saturday, Jan. 22 on the campus of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo.
Ouachita went 0-4 in the tournament, losing to the University of Mary (33-9), Wisconsin-Parkside (37-5), Fort Hays State (37-12) and Central Missouri (33-9).
Highlights during the University of Mary matchup were victories from freshman
Bobby Williams on a 6-3 decision over UM's John Admundson in the 157-pound weight class and freshman
Tyler Hartman via forfeit in the 133-pound class.
For the Wisconson-Parkside meet, Ouachita's Williams struck again with a 19-3 technical fall victory over Dave Edwards.
Hartman answered again for the Tigers against Fort Hays State with a victory via fall at the 1:07 mark over Fort Hays State's Aldon Isenburg. Williams moved to 3-0 on the afternoon with an 8-4 decision over Derek Koehn. In the 197-pound weight class, junior
Gabe Musser provided the third victory for Ouachita with a win over Malcolm Norris on a fall at 4:21.
Freshman
Seth Hutchison began the Central Missouri match with a victory on a forfeit in the 125-pound weight class, while freshman
Jake Simpson provided the only other victory on a 8-1 decision over Todd Brier in the 165-pound class.
Ouachita will travel to Conway on Jan. 29 for the Mustang Open.
