ARKADELPHIA, AR- The Lady Tiger Volleyball team (11-10, 2-5 GAC) played host to the Southern Arkansas Lady Muleriders (10-9, 3-3 GAC) on Tuesday night. The game was tense throughout, going to a fifth set after Ouachita rallied back from being down 2-0, but in the end, the Lady Muleriders prevailed, taking the match and dropping the Lady Tigers to 2-5 in conference play.
The Lady Tigers efforts were led by junior
Megan Askew, who finished with 20 kills, two assists and seven digs in the match while also collecting four block assists. Also a driving force for the Lady Tigers was senior
Lexie Hegi, who collected 45 of Ouachita's 55 assists in the match. Junior
Allison Frizzell again led the Lady Tigers in digs, collecting 20 during the match, while the entire team actually pitched in, collecting a total of 72 digs during the match. Senior
Kristyn Howk was masterful during her serves, collecting three aces during the match.
The Lady Muleriders were led by Becca Pate, who collected 15 kills, as well as Ashlie Arnold, who had 58 of Southern Arkansas's 60 assists. Pate also managed three service aces.
The Lady Tigers return to action on Thursday, when they travel to Monticello, Arkansas to face off with the University of Arkansas-Monticello Cotton Blossoms. That match-up will be a conference game and will begin at 7 p.m.
