Tigers Rebound From Loss to Southern Arkansas, Take Close One From Southeastern Oklahoma

Box Score DURANT, Okla.- It took a blocked three pointer at the buzzer to do it, but the Ouachita Tigers (10-4, 3-1 GAC) took the win over the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma (5-11, 1-3 GAC). With the win, the Tigers move to 3-1 in conference play, putting them in a deadlock for first place in the conference with cross town rival Henderson State. The Tigers victory over the Savage Storm came by a final score of 78-75.

The Tigers were led by junior Austin Mitchell, who put on a scoring clinic en route to his 30 points, sinking eight of his 16 shot attempts, all from behind the three point line. Junior Nigel Ramsey scored 13 points in the game, also recording seven rebounds and nine assists. Junior Julian LaDay added 12 points of his own, recording four rebounds and six assists. Junior Michael Morris recorded a team high 10 rebounds for the Tigers.

The Savage Storm were led by Chris Roussell, who finished with 18 points and six assists. James Harris added 16 points of his own, sinking 10 of his 12 free throw attempts in the game. Urald King recorded a team high 10 rebounds.

Ouachita shot 54.3 percent from the floor during the game while Southeastern shot 44.6 percent in the game. Ouachita turned the ball over 20 times while Southeastern only turned it over 14.

The Tigers return to action on Thursday, when they host the Bison of Harding University for their fifth conference match-up of the season. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
