Lady Tigers Post Impressive Second Half Performance, Steal Game In Overtime Over Harding

Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- It took a late rally in the second half, a little bit of luck and a lot of good defense, but the Lady Tigers (10-5, 3-2 GAC) overcame an 18 point deficit late in their match-up with Harding (9-5, 2-2 GAC). The Lady Tigers used their athleticism to force the Lady Bison into foul trouble and only turned the ball over a total of six times in the second half and overtime periods combined, taking the game into overtime and defeating the Lady Bison by a score of 80-76.

The Lady Tigers were led by senior A'Laeshia Adams, who was the catalyst of the Ouachita offense late in the game, using her driving ability to free up her teammates. Adams finished with a career high 32 points as well as six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Sophomore Nashia James was an offensive force for the Lady Tigers as well, posting an 18 point performance while making six of her seven shots that she took from the floor. James also added three rebounds and three steals.

Harding was led by Sierra Rollins, who posted a double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds, also adding six assists, two blocks and two steals before fouling out in the second half. Montana Lewis was the leading scorer for the Lady Bison, dropping 20 points while adding six rebounds, two assists and a steal.

The Lady Tigers forced Harding to turn the ball over 25 times while only turning it over 16 times themselves. Harding recorded a gaudy 53 rebounds in the game while the Lady Tigers only reigned in 31 of their own.

Ouachita returns to action on Monday, when they host Henderson State for what is looking to be a tough battle with the Lady Reddies and may be even more important than the ever lingering Battle of the Ravine rivalry as it could have conference playoff seeding implications down the road. Tip-off for that match-up is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
