Tigers Unable To Steal Road Win From Tech, Take Second Straight Conference Loss

Box Score
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.- The Ouachita Tigers (11-6, 4-3 GAC) looked to rebound from a loss to Henderson State when they traveled to Russellville on Thursday for a match-up with the Wonderboys of Arkansas Tech (13-4, 5-2 GAC). The Tigers fought hard but in the end, it just wasn't enough to overcome their 24 turnovers, as they fell to Tech by a final score of 82-67.

Ouachita was led by junior Julian LaDay, who recorded a game high 20 points to go along with his five rebounds and five steals. Senior Emmanuel Engulu added 10 points of his own, as well as a team-high seven rebounds and a steal. Junior Nigel Ramsey added eight points for Ouachita while fellow juniors Austin Mitchell and Michael Morris both added seven points to the Tigers totals.

The Wonderboys rode the shoulders of four players, as Johnie Davis recorded 19 points, Matt Haney recorded 16, Jared Williamson scored 15 and Mykel Cleveland scored 10. Will Paul recorded a game-high eight rebounds for Tech while Williamson added a game-high six assists.

The Tigers shot 51 percent from the floor but were unable to sink their free throws, missing 12 of their 27 attempts. The turnover margin was very one-sided, with Tech only forced into 15 turnovers versus Ouachita's 24.

The Tigers return to the floor on Saturday, when they travel to Monticello for a battle with the Boll Weevils of the University of Arkansas-Monticello. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
