RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.- The Ouachita Lady Tigers (11-6, 4-3 GAC) traveled to Russellville, Arkansas on Thursday night for a match-up with the No. 13 Arkansas Tech Golden Suns (12-3, 4-3 GAC). The Lady Tigers were unable to overcome a large number of turnovers, 24 to be exact, but held the game close before falling to Tech by a final score of 76-66.
Ouachita was led by senior
Beulah Osueke, who collected 18 points in the game to go along with her four rebounds and two steals. Senior
A'Laeshia Adams finished with 16 for the Lady Tigers, adding two assists and a steal of her own, while senior
Domino Miller and freshman
Kendra Coyle both finished with eight points in the game. Miller recorded a team-high six assists for Ouachita while sophomore
Erica Sharp recorded a team-high six rebounds.
Arkansas Tech was led by Roselis Silva, who recorded a game-high 19 points as well as a game-high 13 rebounds for a double-double. Natalia Santos added 14 points for the Golden Suns while Lily Abreu added 12 of her own.
Ouachita was held to just 34 percent from the floor, including a 12 of 36 performance from behind the three point line. Tech had a dominating performance from the free throw line, draining 24 of their 28 attempts, maybe being the difference in the game.
Ouachita returns to action on Saturday, when they travel to Monticello for a match-up with the Cotton Blossoms of the University of Arkansas- Monticello. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
