CLEVELAND, Miss.- The Ouachita Lady Tigers (7-4) hit the road on Tuesday, traveling to Cleveland, Mississippi for a match-up against the Lady Statesmen of Delta State University (2-9-1). The Lady Tigers pitched a shutout against the home team, capturing a 2-0 victory.

Ouachita's first goal came at the 37:41 mark of the game, when Morgan Allen scored on a header after a free kick from Mary Whisenhunt set her up.

The two teams went in to halftime with a 1-0 Ouachita lead. Early in the second half though, the Lady Tigers stretched their lead to two. Lauren Hatch scored on a cross from the left side, with assists coming from Abby Emmanuel and Megan Clay.

Ouachita's Shelby Shepherd was great in the net, recording five saves during the 90 minute contest. The Lady Tigers took 13 shots in the game, five of which were on goal. Delta State actually took 17 shots during the game, but only finished with five shots on goal.

Ouachita returns to action on Friday, when they host Southern Nazarene. That game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
