Box Score
ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- It was raining both inside and outside at Ouachita's Sturgis Physical Education Center on Friday night. The only difference is that the raining outside was water and inside it consisted of the Ouachita Lady Tigers' (4-13, 2-5 GAC) offensive attack raining down on the Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma (1-18, 0-6 GAC). Ouachita posted a 3-0 sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma, sealing their first conference victory of the 2012 season.
Ouachita didn't allow the Rangers to put up more than 16 points in any of the three sets, as they completely dominated the match from the start. The Lady Tiger offensive attack was a team effort, with 10 players recording kills during the game.
Faith Avalos recorded a team high nine kills, with
Megan Askew posting eight.
Savannah White and
Sara Mitchell split duties at setter, with White recording 16 assists and Mitchell recording 14.
Allison Frizzell was unbelievable on the defensive side of things, coming up with a number of digs that seemed impossible as the ball came over the net. She finished the game with 16 digs, with Askew coming up with 10 of her own. White also did her share of work on defense, recording seven digs.
At the net, Ouachita recorded a gaudy 15 blocks in the game.
Kelley Ballard recorded five of those, with
Kelsi Bodine denying the opposition three times.
The third set might have been the most impressive for the Lady Tigers, as they recorded an attacking percentage of .375 and 15 kills while only committing three errors.
Ouachita is right back at it on Saturday, as they look to carry their momentum into their 1 p.m. match-up with Southwestern Oklahoma State.
