MONTICELLO, Ark.- The No. 11 Ouachita Tigers (6-0, 4-0 GAC) traveled to Monticello on Saturday, with one goal in mind. Winning. The Tigers did just that, spoiling homecoming for the Boll Weevils of the University of Arkansas-Monticello (1-6, 1-5 GAC). The Tigers had a ridiculous game, including a plus five turnover margin and two defensive touchdowns, capping off a 58-7 victory on the road.
 
The first score of the game for the Tigers was set up by the defense, when Johnathan Frink picked off a pass from Monticello's Trey Taylor and ran it back to the Monticello three yard line. The following play, Steven Kehner recorded a three yard rushing touchdown and gave the Tigers an early 7-0 lead.
 
The next score for the Tigers came from the special teams unit, as Etauj Allen returned a UAM punt 73 yards for a touchdown. The extra point attempt was blocked though, so the Tigers then held a 13-0 lead with 5:16 remaining in the first quarter.
 
The remainder of the first quarter was uneventful and the score was 13-0 heading into the second quarter of play. It only took the Tigers about three minutes of play in the quarter to score though, as Ty Towers completed a four yard touchdown pass to Drew White, stretching the Tiger lead to 20-0.
 
The second turnover of the day for Monticello occurred shortly after, as Allen picked off a pass from Damon Wicker, returning it 13 yards and scoring his second touchdown of the afternoon. Following a converted extra point, the Tigers held a 27-0 lead with 11:42 remaining in the first half.
 
Monticello's next drive marked their first, and only, score of the game, as they capped off a 64 yard drive with a seven yard rushing score by Nick Williams. The score was 27-7 with 8:50 remaining in the first half.
 
It didn't take the Tigers long to answer the UAM touchdown though, as they scored on a 10 yard rush from Rycraw on the following drive. Rycraw's touchdown capped off an 80 yard drive and gave the Tigers a 34-7 lead, which would hold until halftime.
 
The Tigers came out hot in the second half, and stretched their lead even further, as Jemarkus Harmon darted into the end zone on a four yard touchdown run, giving the Tigers a 41-7 lead with 12:19 remaining in the third quarter.
 
The Tigers next score would be set up by yet another interception, as Aaron Garrett picked off Damon Wicker and returned it to the UAM 27 yard line.  Following the interception, Ouachita's Jason Fowler converted on a 31 yard field goal and continued to stretch the Tiger lead. Ouachita led by a score of 44-7 following the field goal, with 8:04 remaining in the third quarter.
 
Harmon recorded his second touchdown of the game on a huge run later in the quarter, breaking into the open field and darting 72 yards for a touchdown. Harmon's score coupled with Fowler's converted PAT stretched the Ouachita lead to 51-7 with 1:13 left in the third quarter. His touchdown run capped off a five play, 83 yard drive for Ouachita.
 
The Tigers weren't done on defense yet, as they had yet another interception for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Greg Williams intercepted a Wicker pass, taking it 51 yards to the end zone and giving the Tigers a 58-7 lead with 2:48 remaining in the game. That score would hold until the final buzzer.
 
Rycraw finished the game with unbelievable numbers, picking up 242 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries, including a long run of 65 yards. The Tiger passing game wasn't relied on much, but Towers finished the game with a six of seven performance through the air, picking up 48 yards and a touchdown. Also notable for the Tiger offense was Harmon, who came into the game and provided 81 yards and two touchdowns on just four carries.
 
Clark Gaddis was spectacular in the punting game, as he boomed three punts for an average of 47.3 yards. He had a long of 51 yards and landed a punt inside the UAM 20 yard line.
 
The Tigers finished the game with 396 rushing yards and 451 total yards. They held the Boll Weevils to just 256 total yards in the game and only gave up one score, which came in the second quarter.
 
The Tigers next match-up will be an interesting one, as they host the Bisons of Harding University next Saturday. That game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff at A.U. Williams Field in Arkadelphia.
