Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- For six Lady Tiger soccer players, Sunday was the last time that they would play at home. They took advantage of that fact as well, as the Ouachita Lady Tigers (8-5, 2-4 GAC) recorded a 2-1 victory over the visiting Lady Tigers of East Central University (3-10-1, 3-4 GAC).
The first goal of the game wasn't scored until the 54:54 mark of the game, when Ouachita's
Morgan Allen headed in a ball with assists from seniors
Mary Whisenhunt and
Lauren Hatch.
East Central answered the goal shortly after though, when Andy Reagan scored at the 57:07 mark in a one-on-one situation with Ouachita goalie
Shelby Shepherd.
Ouachita wasn't going to let East Central spoil their day though, as
Morgan Pitchford scored the eventual winning goal at the 69:06 mark, when a through from
Jessica Allen set her up in a one-on-one, resulting in a goal.
The game was a fairly even one across the board, with Ouachita taking 11 shots and East Central taking 10.
Sarah McKimmey had two shots on goal in the game, but was unable to find the back of the net.
Following the game, seniors McKimmey, Hatch, Whisenhunt,
Taylor Gay,
Carrie Lieblong and
Brittany Davidson were all recognized for their service to the Lady Tiger soccer team.
The Lady Tigers will close out their season with four consecutive road games. Their next game is on October 19, at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. That game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
