Lady Tigers Capture Five Set Victory Over Southeastern Oklahoma

Box Score DURANT, Okla.- A win is a win however you chalk it up. That's the feeling after the Ouachita Lady Tigers (7-14, 4-6 GAC) took a five set victory over the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma (2-22, 1-9 GAC) on Friday afternoon. The two teams split the first two sets, with Southeastern taking the first and Ouachita taking the second. Southeastern took the third set in a super close 25-22 battle before the Lady Tigers rebounded with a 25-16 victory in the fourth set. In the fifth set, both teams fought valiantly, but it was Ouachita who captured the win by a score of 15-11.
 
Ouachita's Megan Askew was “killing” the ball, excuse the pun, finishing with 19 kills and an attacking percentage of .385. She also had 16 digs and five block assists. Four other players four Ouachita finished with double digit kill totals as Abby Pickett, Kelsi Bodine, Faith Avalos and Keely Howk finished with 12, 11, 11 and 10 respectively. Allison Frizzell finished with 23 digs in the game.
 
Leading the assist numbers for the Tigers were Sara Mitchell and Savannah White, who finished with 35 and 21 respectively. Also notable were Jillian Jeffcoat's 14 digs and White's 10 digs.
 
The Lady Tigers had an impressive fourth set, posting 17 kills and only committing four errors.
 
Ouachita will return to action on Thursday, October 25, when they travel to Searcy to take on the Lady Bisons of Harding University. That game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
