MONTICELLO, Ark.- It was a good night to be a Lady Tiger volleyball player on Tuesday, as Ouachita (8-15, 5-7 GAC) took care of business on the road, downing the Cotton Blossoms of Arkansas-Monticello (10-21, 4-7 GAC). The Lady Tigers owned the match from the get-go, taking a 3-0 sweep and improving their standing in the Great American Conference.
A team effort is the only way to describe the victory, with six players recording four or more kills, including
Abby Pickett, who led the team with 10. The team finished with an attack percentage of .248 in the game; including a third set performance in which the team posted a .321 attack percentage.
Ouachita limited their errors in the game, with only 16 attack errors to their 42 kills. They recorded 45 digs in the game, with
Allison Frizzell notching 13 of them and
Megan Askew recording 12 of her own.
Sara Mitchell finished with 22 assists, with
Savannah White also recording 11 assists.
Victoria Bozzo kept UAM in the game, with 15 kills, but her performance wasn't enough to fuel her team to victory. The Cotton Blossoms posted an attack percentage of .105, committing 18 attack errors in the contest.
Ouachita returns home for their next game, their first home game since October 13. They will actually be playing a double-header on Friday evening, facing off against East Central at 4 p.m. and Southeastern Oklahoma at 7 p.m.
