Volleyball Splits Double-Header at Home, Including Conference Victory

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- The Ouachita women's volleyball team hosted East Central University and Southeastern Oklahoma State Friday evening, capturing a 3-1 conference victory over the visiting Lady Tigers of East Central, but falling in a 3-1 non-conference bout against the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma.

The Lady Tigers dropped the first set of their game against East Central, but rallied back, capturing the next three. The most impressive of their three set victories came in the second set, when the team posted a .333 attack percentage and won the set by a score of 25-17. They would take the conference victory, moving to 9-15 on the year and 6-7 in conference play.

In their second game of the afternoon, things looked like they were going to go eerily similar to the first game of the afternoon, as Ouachita dropped the first set, but rallied back and won the second set. Unfortunately, they were unable to take either of the next two sets and fell by a score of 3-1 in the game, making their record 9-16 as the end of the season approaches.

Ouachita will close out the regular season on Thursday, when they host cross-street rival Henderson State in the second installment of this year's Battle of the Ravine series. The last time that the teams met, Ouachita swept the Lady Reddies, taking a 3-0 victory. Thursday's game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., with senior day festivities occuring as well.
