Tigers Postseason Ends with Loss to No. 1 Seed Arkansas Tech

Box Score <br /> <br /> BARTLESVILLE, Okla.- A run in the second half and a lack of scoring led to the ousting of the Ouachita Tigers from the Great American Conference Tournament early Saturday afternoon. The Tigers came into the game as the No. 4 seed in the tournament, taking on the No. 1 seeded Wonder Boys of Arkansas Tech. The Tigers took an 11 point lead at one point in the game, but eventually fell by a score of 67-62.<br /> <br /> Ouachita was led by junior Nigel Ramsey, who finished the game with 17 points and 10 rebounds, as well as four assists. Junior Austin Mitchell added 15 points for Ouachita, as well as six rebounds. Junior Michael Morris was the only other Tigers scoring in double-digits, dropping 11 points while just finishing short of a double-double with nine rebounds. Morris also added a game-high three blocks.<br /> <br /> Arkansas Tech was led by Johnie Davis, who recorded 24 points and eight rebounds in the game. Jared Williamson finished with a 14 point performance, adding 10 rebounds. Matt Haney posted a 10 point performance for the Wonder Boys, while Will Paul added eight of his own.<br /> <br /> Ouachita committed 20 turnovers in the game, while only forcing Arkansas Tech into 17. Both teams had trouble from the floor, as the Tigers made 36.5 percent of their shots while the Wonder Boys made 34 percent of theirs. Ouachita was called for 30 personal fouls, including foul outs of Julian LaDay, Mitchell and Ramsey late in the game.<br /> <br /> Ouachita finishes the season with an overall record of 16-12, including an 8-8 mark in GAC play.<br /> <br /> -Josh Fink, Sports Information Director
