Hatcher's Hat Trick Helps Lady Tigers Dominate

Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Lady Tigers overpowered the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers on Friday, by a score of 7-0.
 
The GAC leader in goals, Haley Hatcher, continued her streak of scores by earning a hat trick for the Lady Tigers in just the first half. Hatcher also recorded an assist in the match.
 
The first two goals of the match came in the 19th minute and the 26th minute, both from Hatcher. Hatcher's first goal was assisted by Abby Emanuel.
 
Tristian Mazzu scored the Lady Tiger's third goal of the match in the 42nd minute, followed by Hatcher's third goal just a minute later. The Lady Tigers went into halftime with the commanding 4-0 lead.
 
The second half was the same story, in which the Lady Tigers shut out the Rangers, and also added three more goals. The first goal of the half, and fifth of the match, was scored by Mazzu, her second of the contest. Mazzu then added an assist in the 73rd minute on a cross that led to Megan Clay finding the back of the net.
 
The last goal of the match came as the buzzer sounded, as Bryson Rial scored on a shot from 25 yards out.
 
The Lady Tigers took at total of 26 shots in the match.
 
Sarah Broyles, OBU's starting goalkeeper, recorded three saves in the first half. In the second half, however, Broyles was moved to midfield. Katy Alexander came in as relief for Broyles, adding three saves of her own. Barrett Gay also saw some action at keeper, and saved three shots as well.
 
This is the second time this season in which the Lady Tigers have scored seven goals in a match.
 
The Lady Tigers move to 9-4-1 on the season and 4-2-1 in the conference. The Lady Tigers return to action on Sunday as they take on Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m.
