Buchanan's Perfect Shooting Leads Tigers to Win

Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The OBU Tiger basketball team defeated the Ecclesia College Royals 95-60 on Monday, highlighted by 27 points from Allen Buchanan and 26 from Colt Fason.
 
The Tigers completely dominated the game, starting with winning the opening tip. OBU scored first and never gave up the lead throughout the entire first and second half.
 
The first half featured lights out shooting from the Tigers, in which OBU shot 69% from the field and 54% from deep. Fason emerged as the star of the first half, scoring 22 points and grabbing eight boards. Micah Delph quarterbacked the offense, recording eight of the team's 13 assists.
 
Ouachita had some struggles keeping possession of the ball in the first half, turning the ball over 14 times. They made up for the turnovers, however, with stellar a defense that forced the Royals to shoot just 37% from the field and 20% from behind the arc. The first half came to a close with the Tigers up 53-27.
 
In the second half, OBU continued their hot streak, shooting 58% from the field. The Tigers received their second-half boost from Buchanan, who shot a perfect 6-6 from the field and 2-2 from the line for 15 points. Kyle Francis gave the Tigers some productive minutes, as well, earning six points, six rebounds and three blocks in the half. The Tigers finished the half, and the game, on top 90-65.
 
OBU finished the game with a 63% field goal percentage. The Tigers also out-rebounded the Royals 49-22.
 
Buchanan led all scorers with 27 points and finished the game 11-11 from the field and 3-3 from the line. Fason recorded his first double-doubles of the season, finishing with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Delph added seven points and a game-high 12 assists. Eric Braeuer also finished in double figures in points with 12.
 
The Tigers (2-0) take the court again on Nov. 15, in the UA-Fort Smith Classic against UA-Fort Smith. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
