Box Score 2 ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Tigers participated in the UA-Fort Smith Lions Classic on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Tigers fell to UAFS 88-79. On Saturday, OBU fell to Rogers State in overtime, 106-111.
Against the UAFS Lions, the Tigers shot 44.4% from the field, but only 27.3% from deep. OBU did dominate inside, however, scoring 48 points in the paint, 22 points more than UAFS. The Tigers also made the most of the turnovers they forced, scoring 19 points off turnovers.
Junior
Micah Delph led all scorers with 23 points, followed by senior
Eric Braeuer with 20. Junior
Colt Fason added a double-digit scoring performance, as well, scoring 10.
Despite 20 points from both Delph and Braeuer, the Tigers lost the game 88-79.
Against Rogers State, the Tigers struggled in the first half and entered half time down 20 points. In the second half, the Tigers climbed back to tie the game after a 31-10 run by OBU. At 95-95, the teams went to overtime.
In overtime, Rogers State was able to steal the win, 106-111.
The Tigers shot even better than the day before, shooting 59.4% from the field against RSU. OBU dominated inside the arc again, scoring 60 points in the paint. The Tigers also received a huge lift from their bench, as they finished with 25 bench points.
Braeuer led the Tigers with 21 points. Delph, Fason and senior
Kyle Francis each finished with 18. Delph also recorded seven assists, and Fason earned a double-double with 10 boards. Freshman
Allen Buchanan provided help from the bench as he added 16 points.
The Tigers (2-2) participate in their first conference game of the season on Thursday, as they take on the East Central Tigers. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
