Tigers Suffer First Conference Loss

ADA, Okla. - East Central University defeated the Tigers 81-54 on Thursday, in the first conference game of the season.

After five minutes in the first half, East Central took an 8-11 lead and never looked back. Both teams shot over 35% from the field, but OBU's 25 turnovers ended up being the difference in the game. 

The Tigers shot 36% from the field for the game. OBU out rebounded ECU 42-32 and also shot better from behind the arc, hitting 33.3% of their threes.

Colt Fason led the Tigers with 24 points, 10 coming from the free-throw line. He also earned his fourth double-double of the season, adding a game-high 13 boards. 

Sterling Bailey provided a nice lift from the bench, scoring eight points in 14 minutes. 

Kyle Francis showed his dominance in the paint, grabbing 12 boards and blocking one shot.

ECU's Brandon Lucas led both teams in scoring with 26 points, only missing three shots on the night. Colby Carr added 17 points and Henry Pwono scored 14.

The Tigers (2-3, 0-1) continue their road trip to Durant, Okla., where they will take on Southeastern University on Saturday. Tipoff is at 4:00 p.m. after the women's game.
