Box Score HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Down 2-0 to Harding, the Ouachita Tigers would take two sets and force a set five. The Tigers came up short in the final set and fell 3-2 to Harding in the GAC Volleyball Championships in Hot Springs, Ark.
The Lady Bisons jumped out to a quick 6-1 lead. The Tigers would claw back into the set and cut the lead to four, trailing 12-8. But the Lady Bison attackers Arnold, Savage and Turner were relentless and accurate. Each had three kills and they finished off the Tigers with a 7-2 run to take set one 25-13.
Kelley Ballard led the Tigers in set one with two kills and two blocks.
The Lady Tigers came out hungry in the set two. The two teams exchanged leads back and forth and midway through the set the Tigers trailed by one, down 14-13. Strong play at the net by Lady Bison Eubanks and Savage increased the Harding lead to four. Tiger middle
Kelsi Bodine had back-to-back kills to get the Tigers back into the set. It wasn't enough though and Harding took the set 25-18.
Set three was a signature set for the Tigers. They jumped out to 4-0 lead and held that lead through most of the set. Harding would cut the lead to one, down 15-14 but the Tigers would answer with a 4-1 run to lead 19-16 and force a Harding timeout. Harding came out of the timeout with two quick scores and a service ace by Arnold to tie it up 19-19. From there it was a back-and-forth between both sides. The Tigers answered every attack the Lady Bison could throw at them. After three match points, the Tigers would take the set 28-26.
The Tigers would lead almost the entirety of set four. Harding would tie it 21-21, but the tigers would go on a 4-1 run and win the set on a block assist by
Kelley Ballard and
Stephanie Pollnow to force a set five. The Tigers had 15 digs and four blocks in the set as their defense carried them to a win.
Abby Pickett led the Tigers with four kills in the set.
Harding would take the lead in set five and at the switch, they led 8-4. The Tigers would not get closer than four however, despite great defense and forcing Harding to play in long rallies. After a hard fought five sets, Harding would take the final set 15-10 and win the match 3-2.

Tara Wait led the Tigers with 28 assists. The Tigers had four players with double-digits in digs, led by
Chelsey Hess's 19.
Stephanie Pollnow recorded a team-high five blocks.
The Ouachita tigers finished the year 16-12.
