Tigers Roll Over Southern Nazarene at Home

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- The Ouachita Tigers (12-8, 8-6 GAC) have gotten hot at the right time, as a 75-62 win over Southern Nazarene (12-9, 7-8 GAC) has them sitting in third place in the Great American Conference standings after winning four of their last five games.
 
Ouachita used an early lead to hold off Southern Nazarene in the first half, leading to their three point advantage as they went into the half.
 
The Ouachita Tigers that came out in the second half were a completely different team though, as they jumped out to a nine point lead just five minutes into the half, which they continued to stretch throughout the entirety of the game.
 
The Tigers led by as much as 17 in the game, but settled for a 13 point win due to a three pointer from Southern Nazarene with eight seconds left in the game.
 
Michael Morris led the Tigers with 17 points and five rebounds in the game. Austin Mitchell wasn't far behind with 15 points though, as he drained five of his seven attempts from behind the arc. Also spectacular on offense was Nigel Ramsey, who scored 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting in the game.
 
Southern Nazarene's Garrett Butler led the way on offense with 18 points. Quan Conner finished the game with 17 for the Crimson Storm, while Antwone Jackson finished with 11.
 
The Tigers took great care of the ball, only committing eight turnovers while forcing SNU into 13. Ouachita really won the game with their shooting though, as they drained 58.3 percent of their shots, including a 62.5 percent mark from the three point line.
 
The Tigers return to the court on Thursday, when they travel to Russellville to take on the Wonder Boys of Arkansas Tech University. Tip is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
