Lady Tigers Suffer First Loss of the Season

Box Score Arkadelphia, Ark – The Lady Tiger soccer team lost their first game of the season on Sunday, falling to the Northeastern State University RiverHawks by a score of 1-2.
 
The Lady Tigers had trouble getting the offense going all game, taking a total of 12 shots to Northeastern State's 25. The Lady Tigers did have more accuracy, however, putting eight of those shots on goal.
 
The first goal came in the 38th minute, when sophomore Haley Hatcher scored for OBU on a beautiful shot from just outside the box. The Lady Tigers went into halftime with the 1-0 lead.
 
The second half featured two goals, both by NSU's senior Renee' Valcarcel. Valcarel's first goal came in the 53rd minute on an assist from senior Elizabeth Cudjoe. The second goal from Valcarel came less than a minute later on assists from freshman Kelsey McIntyre and sophomore Nea Sunila.
 
Senior Sarah Broyles had six saves as the Lady Tiger keeper.
 
The Lady Tigers travel to Alva, Oklahoma on Friday, October 4th, to battle to Northwestern Oklahoma State University Rangers. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
