Lady Tigers Look to Break Reddies Home Win Streak

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Lady Tigers (4-11, 2-7) will take the short van ride across Highway 7 tonight to take on the Lady Reddies of Henderson State (10-5, 5-4). Tip-off at the Duke Wells Center is set for 5:30 pm.

The Lady Tigers are coming off a big conference win over UAM Tuesday night, 82-68. It was only their second GAC win of the season. In both those wins, Ouachita has had a 13 point margin-of-victory average.

They will be taking a Lady Reddie team that has not lost at home this year, winning seven straight at the Duke Wells Center. They lead the GAC in three-point field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to just 26%.

The Lady Tigers will be looking to get the ball inside and make short-range shots in hopes of softening HSU's perimeter defense.

Senior forward Elise Holman has averaged 14.3 points in the last three games. Her work inside had paid off at the free-throw line where she's gone 21-23 in that same time span. Holman is also averaging 6.3 rebounds in the last three games.

Senior guard Nashia James leads the Tigers this season in scoring (15.5 ppg) and rebounding (5.7).  She had a season-high six offensive rebounds in the win over UAM on Tuesday.

For the Lady Reddies, Angelique Sledge is leading the conference in scoring, averaging 22.8 points per game.  She also shoots a GAC-best 43% from beyond the arc.

Ouachita leads the all-time series 36-35, winning five of the last six. The two teams split the series last year, each winning at home.
