Tigers finish season at 7-7-2

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - In their last match of the regular season, the Ouachita Baptist Tigers came up two goals short in a 3-1 contest against the 14th ranked Northeastern State University RiverHawks. The Tigers finished their season with a record of 7-7-2. 

The RiverHawks struck early in the match, as Ricardo Palomino scored in the second minute. Northeastern then added to its lead 12 minutes later, when Juan Peralta netted a ball that came from Brenden Bombardier. 

While creating a two-goal lead, the RiverHawks held the Tigers to only three shots in the first half. After Peralta's goal, the rest of the first half remained scoreless, with Northeastern State leading 2-0. 

Five minutes into the second half, the Tigers began their comeback. A header by Tinashe Chigede missed high but bounced off the crossbar. The ball deflected straight to Logan Hampton, who finished the play, bringing the Tigers within one. 

Over the next 25 minutes, Ouachita attempted five shots, but could not tie the match. Then, in the 75th minute, Northeastern's Justin Todd put the game away with the third goal for the RiverHawks. 

Hampton recorded the only goal for Ouachita, while Chigede lead all players with four shots. Colton Huie added three shots, two of them on target. 

Senior David Henley recorded a game-high five saves in the match.

The Tigers (7-7-2) ended their season with a record of 6-2-2 in their last 10 games.
