Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Despite scoring first, the Ouachita Baptist women's soccer team lost 2-1 on Saturday to East Central University. The two teams will play again on Monday, Nov. 3, to decide the third and fourth seeds in the Great American Conference Tournament.
 
Both teams were held scoreless for the entire first half, with Ouachita attempting nine shots and ECU attempting 14. East Central put four first-half shots on target, but Ouachita's Lauren Llanes saved all four.
 
Just over three minutes into the second half, Ouachita struck first, on a goal by Lauren Powers. The goal was Powers' first of the season, and Morgan Allen recorded her second assist of the year, as the Tigers went ahead 1-0.
 
In the 62^nd minute, however, ECU's Katie Glutz evened the match at one on a shot from the right side of the box. 16 minutes later, Glutz added her second goal of the match to give East Central a 2-1 lead with 12 minutes to play.
 
Ouachita attempted seven second-half shots, but could not register another goal to tie the match, and East Central claimed the victory.
 
East Central finished with 31 total shots, while Ouachita finished with 16. Haley Hatcher led OBU with four shots, while Bryson Rial and Hannah Hover each had two. Powers came off the bench to score the only goal of the match for Ouachita.
 
Llanes finished with eight saves, bringing her season total to 60 saves (7.5 saves per game).
 
Ouachita (5-11-1, 4-5 GAC) is currently the fourth seed in the Great American Conference standings. The Tigers will take on East Central again on Monday at Wesley and Debbie Kluck Field in Arkadelphia, Ark. With a win, Ouachita will move up to the third seed for the GAC Tournament, and, with a loss/tie, Ouachita will remain in fourth.
