Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers men's basketball team moved to 1-0 in dominating fashion on Friday night, defeating the Baptist Bible College Patriots 97-50.
The Tigers controlled every aspect of the game. Ouachita posted a 50 percent field goal percentage, compared to BBC's 28.4 percent. The Tigers also were 46.2 percent from three-point range, compared to the Patriots' three-point percentage of 23.3 percent. Ouachita won the rebounding battle 42-25, and the turnover battle 13-23.
Ouachita recorded 44 of its points in the paint, and 33 points off BBC turnovers. The Tigers also finished with 20 second-chance points, 22 fast-break points and 28 bench points.
Justin McCleary led all players with 22 points on 8-11 shooting from the field. McCleary added five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Jerron Smith and Allen Buchanan each added 17 points, with Smith grabbing eight boards. Jontavis Willis scored 12 points and recorded seven boards, and Jordan Corbitt finished with 10 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Colt Fason recorded his first double-double of the season, posting 13 points and 10 rebounds in just 21 minutes of play.
The Tigers (1-0) will host Texas A&M Commerce on Thursday, Nov. 20 for their second game of the regular season. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
