Box Score COMMERCE, Texas – The Ouachita Lady Tigers fell to 2-2 on the season on Saturday, losing to the Texas A&M University-Commerce Lions 66-56.
The Lions (2-1) scored the first four points of the game and never looked back, as Ouachita could not tie the game or take the lead once. TAMUC dominated inside, outscoring the Lady Tigers 44-10 in the paint. The Lions also recorded 19 more second-chance points and 21 more bench points.
The Lady Tigers struggled from the field in the first half, shooting only 26.9 percent. Ouachita did connect on 38.7 percent of shots from three-point range, however.
In the second half, Ouachita improved its field goal percentage to 34.6 percent but could not take the lead, as A&M-Commerce finished with a total field goal percentage of 39.1 percent.
TAMUC's La'Tisha Hearne led all players with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Ouachita's
Breanna Harris led the Lady Tigers with 14 points, while
Katherine West finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
Katie Kapler led the team with nine boards, and she also added seven points.
The Lady Tigers (2-2) will host their first home game on Tuesday, Nov. 25. Ouachita will take on Central Baptist College at 5:30 p.m. in Bill Vining Arena.
