Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Tigers ran out of time on Thursday, losing to the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys 86-80. Down by 23 at halftime, the Tigers stormed back but came up six points short.
As a team, the Tigers finished the first half shooting 33.3 percent from the field, compared to Tech's 50 percent shooting. 15 Tiger turnovers also proved to be a problem in staying in the game for Ouachita. The Tigers went into halftime down 47-24.
Tech's Tyler Friedel provided a massive spark for the Wonder Boys, netting 7-10 three-pointers and 3-3 free-throws for 24 first-half points.
Ouachita turned it around in the second half, shooting 57.9 percent from the field, while holding Tech to 42.1 percent shooting. The Tigers made multiple runs to climb back into the game and outscored Tech 56-39 in the second half. Tech's hot shooting from Friedel and Clarke Overlander (4-4 3FG), however, were too much for the Tigers to overcome.
Friedel finished with a game-high 35 points off 8-13 shooting from deep and 11-11 from the line.
Micah Delph led the Tigers with 20 points and six assists, 15 points coming in the second half. Allen Buchanan finished with 19 points, 17 coming in the second half. Colt Fason earned another double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
The Tigers (7-14, 4-11) will travel to Searcy, Ark. on Saturday, Feb. 15, to take on Harding. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
