ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Down by seven with less than three minutes to play, the Ouachita Tigers climbed back to come within one point but could not pull off the win against the Southwestern Oklahoma State Bulldogs on Saturday. Final score of the game was 67-63 Bulldogs.
The game featured 10 ties and 11 lead changes before the Bulldogs took the lead with just over eight minutes to play and maintained the lead until the final buzzer. The Tigers, however, outshot the Bulldogs, netting 43.4 percent of their shots compared to SWOSU's 41.2 percent. The Tigers were also 50 percent from behind the arc.
Rod Camphor led the Bulldogs and all scorers with 21 points, including 4-8 shooting from three-point range.
The Tigers were led by Colt Fason, who scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Allen Buchanan added 13 points, including three buckets from deep, and Micah Delph and Eric Braeuer each scored 10.
The Tigers (8-16, 5-13) will host Henderson State on Thursday, Feb. 27 in their final home game of the regular season. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
