Nashia James recorded 17 points, nine assists and eight rebounds to lead the Lady Tigers to a win over rival Henderson State by a score of 93-51. It was the highest point total for the Lady Tigers this season, on a night where five Lady Tigers scored in double figures.
Ouachita started the night hot and quickly jumped out to a 21-7 lead in the game's first six minutes. Never trailing, the Lady Tigers finished the first half with a 25-point lead. Defensively, the Lady Tigers held Henderson to 7-22 shooting, and 22% from three-point range.
The Lady Tigers dominace around the peremiter continued in the second half, holding the Lady Reddies to a three-point shooting percentage of 12.5.
Offensively, senior forward
Elise Holman took over the inside and scored 11 second-half points, shooting 5-9 from the floor. She finished the game with 13 points, four rebounds, three assists and one block.
The Lady Tigers controlled the basketball and dominated the turnover battle. Ouachita finished with six turnovers to Henderson's 20.
The Lady Tiger bench outscored the HSU bench 35-12.
Katie Kapler and
Ashley Johnson accounted for 20 of those bench points with Kapler scoring 11 and Johnson nine. They shot a combined 8-16 foir the game.
