One For The Record Books. Lady Tigers Get Mileston Win at Southern Nazarene

Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Guard Nashia James scored 15 second-half points, including her career 1,000th point, to lead the Lady Tigers to a 10-point road win over Southern Nazarene, 71-61. The victory also gave Ouachita Lady Tiger head coach Garry Crowder the 700th win of his career.

The Lady Tigers trailed by five at halftime. The Lady Tigers shot a season-low 14% in the first half going 4-29 from the floor. Free-throw shooting kept Ouachita within striking sitance. The Lady Tigers shot 14-15 in the first half.

Ouachita improved their shooting in the second half, going 17-35 from the floor. They continued their hot free-throw shooting, sinking 10-14. The Lady Tigers chipped away at the Southern Nazarenen lead and with 10:51 remaining,a three-pointer by Breanna Harris would put Ouachita up for good.

The Lady Tigers locked down defensively and held back any late scoring runs the Crimsom Storm attempted.

The Lady Tikgers had four starters in double figures. Harris had 17, Erica Sharp and Harris each had 12 and Katherine West finished with 11. Elise Holmes and James led the Lady Tigers with seven recounds.

Nashia James needed 10 points to hit the 1,000 mark. She now has 1,007 in her career. She is third player to hit 1,000 career points in GAC history.

Head coach Garry Crowder's 700th win was win number 296 at Ouachita Baptist University. Crowder amassed 404 wins as a high school varisty head coach prior to coming to OBU.

The Lady Tigers return home next Thursday, February 13 to face Arkansas Tech. Tipoff is set for 5:30 pm.
