Tigers fall in regular-season finale, 69-79

Box Score MONTICELLO, Ark. – After a thrilling last-second win against HSU, the Tigers controlled their own destiny heading the regular-season finale against Arkansas Monticello. The Tigers were unable to find their range from beyond the arc and ended their season with a – road loss. The Tigers finished 9-17, 6-14 in the Great American Conference.
 
With Southeastern Oklahoma State beating Harding earlier, the Tigers knew going in the game was a must win.
 
The Tigers came out hot, going 5-7 in the first five minutes of the game. Four of the five Tiger starters scored during that time frame. Ouachita would go cold though in the remainder of the half shooting only 5-20 from the floor over the next 14:23 minutes of play.
 
As a team, UAM was not much better, going 11-25, but they were 6-13 from beyond the arc, giving them a six-point lead at the half, 35-27.
 
Micah Delph led the Tigers at the half with 10 points.
 
UAM opened the second half with five straight points increasing their lead to 11. Ouachita would be down by double digits for most of the second half.
 
The Tigers shot better in the second half, going – from the floor, but UAM continued to shoot well from three-point range and the Tigers were unable to get any closer than nine in the final minute.
 
Colt Fason finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Micah Delph had 15 points and Allen Buchanan finished with 12.
 
It was the final game for Tigers Eric Braeuer, David Day, Kyle Francis and John Kornet.
