Box Score SEARCY, Ark. - After entering halftime at a 1-1 tie, the Ouachita men's soccer team scored three goals in the second half to eventually defeat the Harding Bisons 4-2.
The match was an offensive showcase, as the Tigers and Bisons recorded 17 shots and 16 shots, respectively. In the first half, both teams registered a combined 16 shots, seven of which were on goal. On Ouachita's eighth shot of the half, Ryan Trayner scored on a free kick from 20 yards out to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Less than five minutes later, however, Harding's Cole Walker leveled the match on a penalty kick.
In the second half, the Tigers scored first again, on a penalty kick from Dillon Farrell in the 62nd minute. The Bisons responded quickly in the 68th minute with a goal by Dylan Sherrill off a cross from Steven Jacobs.
With the match tied at two, Ouachita's Brandon Hom earned a free kick after a foul that resulted in a red card for Harding's Curtis Hunt. Hom's kick sailed right to Colton Huie's head and then the back of the net, putting the Tigers back on top 3-2.
After Huie gave the Tigers the one-goal lead, Trayner added his second goal of the match on a penalty kick, and the game later ended with the Tigers ahead 4-2.
Trayner led the Tigers with five shots and two shots on goal, as well as two goals. Huie added three shots with his goal, and Dillon Farrell recorded two shots and one goal. Hom registered the only assist for Ouachita.
Keeper David Henley spent all 90 minutes in goal for the Tigers, recording four saves and allowing two goals, one on a penalty kick.
The Tigers (1-2) will travel to Edmond, Okla. to take on Oklahoma Christian University on Friday, Sept. 12. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
