Late comeback not enough for Tigers

Box Score TAHLEQUAH, Ark. – Despite a late goal from Haley Hatcher, the Ouachita Tigers women's soccer team fell to the Northeastern State RiverHawks 2-1.
 
Northeastern State's offense maintained possession for most of the first half, as the RiverHawks recorded 19 first-half shots. Ouachita keeper Emily Keith did record four saves in the first half, but the Tigers defense could not keep the RiverHawks scoreless.
 
In the 15th minute of the match, Northeastern's Melissa Giles put her team ahead 1-0 off an assist from Anastasia Robinson. Giles then scored again, 13 minutes later, and the teams entered halftime with the RiverHawks leading 2-0.
 
In the second half, the Tigers attempted a late comeback, recording five shots in the last 30 minutes of play. Hatcher netted the only goal, however, in the 88th minute on a shot from 18 yards out. The goal was Hatcher's first of the 2014 regular season.
 
Keith finished the match with seven total saves in 90 minutes. Hatcher led the Tigers with seven shots and two shots on goal.
 
The Tigers (0-3) will travel to Oklahoma City, Okla. for a match against Oklahoma Christian University on Friday. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
 
The Tigers will play their first home game of the regular season on Sept. 21, as they host Texas A&M Commerce.
