Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers dropped their home opener in three straight sets to defending Great American Conference champions Arkansas Tech. The Tigers (6-2, 1-1) saw their six-game win streak come to end. It was the first time this season that Ouachita did not win at least two sets in a match.
Errors plagued Ouachita's chances early on, making it difficult for the team to sustain any kind of a run during the three sets. Eight service errors and four return errors for the match were indicative of the TIgers' night.Â
Offensively, the Tigers hit well, committing only 11 attack errors for the entirety of the match.
Jayme Shell and
Keely Howk paced the Tigers with eight and seven kills respectively. Tech however, had three hitters with double-digits in kills and as a team had a .402 attack percentage for the match.
Tara Wait led the Tigers with 27 assists.
Ashley Wake led in digs with 13.Â
The Tigers will look to bounce back on Wednesday night against Texas A&M Commerce. The match is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
