Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers volleyball started Homecoming Week off with a 3-0 win over Williams Baptist College. The Tigers won in straight sets 25-15, 25-22 25-18. Junior
Abby Pickett led all Tigers with 12 kills and four blocks.
With the win, Ouachita improved their record to 10-3 overall. They remain 3-2 in the Great American Conference. The match with Williams Baptist concluded a home and home series between the two schools. The Tigers won the earlier match at Williams Baptist by a score of 3-0.
The Tigers had two players with double digits in kills. Freshman
Caitlin Cantrell of Frisco, Texas played in all three sets for Ouachita and recorded a career-high 11 kills on 29 attacks.
Abby Pickett recorded double-digits in kills for the third time in four games. She has an attack percentage of .280 in those games.
Tara Wait set the Tiger hitters all night and recorded 35 assists.
Kelley Ballard was third on the team in kills with six, including the match-winner.
Stephanie Pollnow added four kills to the Tiger attack and provided crucial defense at the net with three blocks.
Chelsey Hess led the Tiger defense with 15 digs.
Ashley Wake and
Jayme Shell each had seven in the match.
Ouachita will travel to Bethany, Oklahoma this Friday, Oct. 3, to face the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene (9-4, 3-1). The match is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
