Kori Bullard, the Ouachita Lady Tigers fell to 0-5 in GAC play in 85-61 loss to the Southwestern Oklahoma State Lady Bulldogs on Thursday night.
Despite the loss, the Lady Tigers posted a three-point percentage of 37.9 percent while holding SWOSU to only 23.8 percent. The Lady Bulldogs did convert on 45 percent of their total field goals, however.
Southwestern also out-rebounded the Lady Tigers 49-30, and the Lady Bulldogs grabbed 14 offensive rebounds that resulted in 11 second-chance points.
The first five minutes of the game featured one tie and two lead changes before a 21-1 run by the Lady Bulldogs put Ouachita behind 27-9 with 8:22 to play in the first half. The Lady Tigers slowly battled back, however, and brought the score to 37-25 at the break.
Despite multiple runs by the Lady Tigers in the second half, Southwestern maintained a lead of at least five points for the remainder of the contest. Over the final 5:19 of the second half, the Lady Bulldogs extended their lead on a 20-7 run to claim the 85-61 victory.
SWOSU's Chelsea Bates led all players with 25 points, including 14-15 from the free-throw line. Jessica Penner added 12 points for the Lady Bulldogs, while grabbing a game-high 16 rebounds.
Bullard led the Lady Tigers with 18 points and four assists.
Breanna Harris followed with 10 points, and she tied
Katherine West with a team-high six boards.
