ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Behind freshman Ashlie Dintleman's career-high 12 kills and zero errors, the Ouachita Tigers defeated the Lyon College Scots 3-1 on Saturday. The Tigers were led in kills by Kori Bullard with 14.
Ouachita (13-9) dominated the first set and took a 1-0 lead after a 25-13 victory. The Tigers recorded 15 kills and a .333 attack percentage in the game, while limiting Lyon College to only eight kills and a .069 percentage.Â
The Tigers then took a 2-0 lead after defeating the Scots 25-23 in the second game, despite only nine kills from Ouachita. The Scots bounced back, however, with a 26-24 win in the third set. With a 2-1 lead, the Tigers eventually won the fourth set and the match with a 25-18 win. Ouachita held Lyon College to nine kills and six attack errors in the final set.Â
Bullard finished with a match-high 16.5 points, including 14 kills, three block assists and a solo block. Dintleman followed with a .600 attack percentage and a block assist in just her fifth match of her career. Caitlin Cantrell had nine kills, and Chloe Brinkley recorded eight.Â
Stormi Leonard picked up 44 assists in the four-set match, and Ashley Wake had a match-high 14 digs. 16 different Tigers played in the match, with Bullard, Dintleman, Cantrell and Brinkley each recording at least 10 points.Â
Ouachita will return to conference play on Tuesday, Nov. 3, as the Tigers travel across the street to take on Henderson State University. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
