SHAWNEE, Okla. - The Ouachita Lady Tigers opened the 2015-16 GAC season at Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday night. Despite three Lady Tigers scoring in double figures, Ouachita fell 75-56.
Breanna Harris scored a team-high 15 points, shooting 7-12 from the floor.
The Lady Tigers shot only 27% in the first half, including going 2-12 from three-point range. Ouachita's
Taylor Bowles made both Lady Tiger threes in the first half on seven attempts.
Katie Kapler also added six points in the first half, going 4-4 from the free throw line. Kapler also added six first-half rebounds.
Breanna Harris and
Katherine West provided the offense in the second half. Harris poured in 11 second-half points on 5-8 shooting. West scored nine of her 14 points in the second half. Kapler finished with 10 points for the game, but added six more boards for a game-high total of 12 and her first double-double of the year. The Lady Tigers outshot the Bison by 10 attempts in the second half, but couldn't overcome Oklahoma Baptist shooting 43% from the floor.
The Lady Tigers will face Southern Nazarene in Bethany, Oklahoma on Saturday, November 21, Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
