STEPHENVILLE, Texas - The Ouachita Tigers men's basketball shot an uncharacteristically low percentage from the three-point range on Friday night in an 82-65 loss to Texas A&M-Kingsville. The Tigers shot a season-low 13 percent from beyond the arc.
Aitor Lopez-Breton scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for his first double-double as a Tiger.
The Tigers shot 41 percent from the floor, scoring 32 of their 65 points in the paint. A&M-Kingsville's advantage came from shooting a blistering 50 percent from three-point range. The Javelinas knocked down eight from long-range to Ouachita's season-low of two. Ouachita also committed a season-high 23 turnovers, which the Javelinas converted into 23 points.
Ouachita kept the game close midway through the second half thanks to their relentless work on the offensive glass. The Tigers converted 15 offensive rebounds into 15 points. Ouachita finished with a season-high 39 rebounds. Lopez-Breton's 11 boards were the most by a Tiger this season.
Allen Buchanan scored a season-high 13 points on 5-8 shooting. He also pulled down a season-high seven rebounds.
Justin McCleary added 12 points.
