Tigers rain 13 treys in win over SWOSU

Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Tigers shot 46% as a team from beyond the arc, making 13-28 three-point attempts and played a stifling second-half defense that held Southwestern Oklahoma State to a 29% shooting percentage en route to an 89-63 victory over the Bulldogs. The Tigers continue to sit alone atop the GAC standings with a 16-4 record overall and a 12-3 conference record.

Four starters finished with double-figures for Ouachita. Micah Delph made six threes and finished with 20 points. David Berete shot 70% from the floor and finished with 18. Tirrell Brown did the bulk of his damage from the free throw line, facing double and triple-teams in the paint. He finished with 14, with 10 coming from the charity stripe. Justin McCleary scored 13, making 50% of his shots on the night.

The Tigers led by 16 at halftime. As a team they shot an incredible 51% from the floor and 53% from beyond the three-point line. The Tigers forced 11 turnovers in the first half and converted on 14 assists to SWOSU's 0. Micah Delph finished the first half nine points, six rebounds and five assists. David Berete led all first-half scorers with 15, missing only two shots in the half.

Delph continued his hot shooting in the second half, going 3-5 from three-point range. The Tigers defense forced the Bulldogs to take contested or bad shots throughout the half, holding them to eight second-half field goals made. Carven Holcombe and Alan Buchanan were big contributors off the bench in the second half with Holcombe pulling down five rebounds and Buchanan scoring four and dishing out an assist.

The Tigers will look to win their thirteenth-straight home game this Saturday at Bill Vining Arena where they'll host East Central. Tipoff is set for 3:00 p.m.
