Kori Bullard combined for 17-26 from the floor to give Ouachita a much-needed 80-77 home victory. Harris finished the night with 26 points and Bullard scored 20.
Neither team shot well in the first half. The Lady Tigers could not find their range going 7-26 from the floor. The Lady Tigers biggest offensive production in the first half came at the free-throw where they made 8-11. Despite shooting 27% from the floor, the Lady Tigers went in too the half down by only four, 30-26. Southwestern made only one field goal in the final 6:30 minutes of the game.,
The Lady Tigers opened the second half scoring the first five points on a three-pointer from
Katie Kapler and a layup by
Katherine West. After a couple of lead changes,
Breanna Harris traded consecutive threes with the Lady Bulldogs to keep Ouachita within one, 43-42 with 15:02 left to play. Just under two minutes later, a
Kori Bullard trey put the Lady Tigers up 47-46.
The Lady Tigers would hold and extend that lead by as many as five points until 8:22 mark, when a Lady Bulldog three gave SOWSU a two-point lead, 58-56. With 3:24 left in the game, Harris hit her fourth three-pointer of the night to the Lady Tigers the lead for good. A jumper by Bullard and two
Katherine West free-throws would seal it for Ouachita, earning them their eighth win this season.
The Lady Tigers return to Bill Vining Arena this Saturday, February 14, when they host the Tigers of East Central. Tipoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
