Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Behind 39 points from Aungelique Sledge, the Henderson State Reddies defeated the Ouachita Lady Tigers 98-86 on Thursday night. The Lady Tigers outscored HSU 40-29 in the first half but allowed the Reddies to dominate the second half to steal the win.
The Lady Tigers led for 18 minutes of the first half and ended the period on a 9-2 run to go ahead by 11. Ouachita dominated both offensively and defensively as the Lady Tigers posted a field-goal percentage of 43.8 percent while holding HSU (10-15, 8-11 GAC) to 29.7 percent. The Lady Tigers also converted on 8-10 free-throws.
Breanna Harris led all scorers with 13 first-half points on 5-10 shooting from the field.
Katherine West followed with six points, and a team-high five rebounds and four assists.
In the second half, Sledge took control, scoring 27 points on 8-13 shooting from the floor and 9-10 shooting from the free-throw line. Both offenses had success in the half, as the Lady Tigers and Reddies recorded field-goal percentages of 51.4 and 64.7 percent. Henderson was able to take the lead behind 20 free-throws in the half.
For the game, Sledge scored a game-high in points and also grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. Dulincia Keener followed with 18 points, and Victoria Stewart added 15 and nine boards.
Harris scored a team-high 20 points for the Lady Tigers and also recorded six rebounds and five assists. West, who scored 13 points in the second half, followed with 19 points, a team-high eight boards and a game-high seven assists. Both Harris and West combined for only four turnovers in 70 minutes of play.
The Lady Tigers (10-16, 6-13 GAC) will play their final game of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 28, as Ouachita travels to Searcy, Ark. The Lady Tigers will take on the Bisons of Harding University at 5:30 p.m.
