ARKADELPHIA, Ark –The Ouachita Tigers' women's soccer team drew with Harding at home by a final scored of 2-2. The Tigers had 18 shots in the game, ten of which were on goal. The game puts the Tigers' record at 7-7-2 on the season and 7-3-1 in the Great American Conference.
Harding opened the game's scoring in the 7th minute. Melanie Matkins' shot hit the crossbar and bounced into the net. Ouachita's
Bryson Thomas brought the game level in the 61st minute on a breakaway goal. Then, in the 68th minute,
Tessa Woodcock gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead. Woodcock headed a cross from
Dina Harper into the goal. However, in the last minute of play, Bethany Sutherland scored for Harding to tie the game and send it into overtime. Neither team was able to find the winning goal in the 20-minute overtime period and the game ended 2-2.
The Tigers' offense was led by
Barbara Pascale, who had four shots.
Dina Harper,
Bryson Thomas, and
Kamryn Martin all contributed with three shots each. Ouachita goalkeeper
Erin Webster had six saves in the game.
Ouachita's final regular season game will be played at home on Oct. 29 against East Central. Kick-off will be at 11 a.m. The Ouachita Tiger seniors will be recognized prior to the game.
