ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' volleyball team took a three-set loss in Searcy, Ark. Thursday night against Harding University. While the 16-6 Tigers saw their five match winning streak come to an end, they still managed to clinch a spot in the upcoming Great American Conference Volleyball Championships. Tabatha Huckabee led Ouachita with 13 kills while
Ashley Wake recorded 23 digs in the match.
Ouachita now stands tied for second place in the GAC with Arkansas Tech. Both teams are 8-4 in conference play. They sit one game behind Harding who shared the conference lead with Oklahoma Baptist at 9-3. Oklahoma Baptist is ineligible for conference post-season play. After a pair of non-conference matches this weekend, Ouachita face two GAC opponents at home next week with matches versus cross-street rival Henderson State (Nov.1) and Arkansas-Monticello (Nov. 3). The Tigers season finale will be at home versus Arkansas Tech on Nov. 10.
In the match versus Harding,
Caitlin Cantrell led the Tigers with an attack percentage of .455, recording five kills on 11 attacks with no attack errors. She also added a solo block an a block assist to her numbers on the night.
Stormi Leonard finished with 30 assists and eight digs.
