ARKADELPHIA, Ark. –The Ouachita Tigers women's soccer team defeated East Central by a final score of 2-0.
Kasey Smith and
Dina Harper were the goal scorers for the Tigers. Ouachita's record now stands at 5-5-1 overall and 5-1 in the Great American Conference.
The Tigers played a stellar game offensively. The team accumulated 27 shots on their way to a 2-0 win.
Dina Harper led the Tigers with eight shots, while
Kasey Smith had four. Harper and Smith were also Ouachita's goal scorers. Harper scored the first goal of the game in the 32nd minute by incredibly lifting the ball over the goalkeeper's head from 40 yards away. Smith doubled the lead in the 60th minute by placing the ball in the back of the net from 30 yards out.
Barbara Pascale was credited with the assist for Smith's goal.
Defensively, the Tigers also played a solid game. Goalkeeper
Erin Webster accrued six saves and kept a clean sheet. This is the Tiger's second consecutive shutout.
The Tigers will look to continue their three-game winning streak on Oct. 12 against Oklahoma Baptist. The game will kick-off at 1 p.m. at Kluck Field.
