ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers' women's basketball team defeated Southern Nazarene by a final score of 72-66 to improve to 2-0 in the Great American Conference. The Lady Tigers were led by sophomore guard

Ouachita started the game slowly, trailing 17-10 with just under five minutes remaining in the first quarter. However, the Lady Tigers went on a 17-2 run over the course of the next eight minutes to take a 27-19 lead. The Lady Tigers never trailed again. Ouachita led 38-27 at halftime and 60-44 at the end of the fourth quarter. At one point in the third quarter, Ouachita led by as many as 20 points. However, Southern Nazarene mounted a comeback in the fourth quarter, cutting the Lady Tiger lead to four points with 3:31 remaining in the competition. Freshman Madison Britain iced the game by making a free-throw with 8 seconds remaining.
Ouachita made 38% of their shots in the game, but their aggressive offensive play was the difference maker. The Lady Tigers went to the free-throw line 23 times, making 19 of those shots. The Lady Tigers also out-rebounded Southern Nazarene by 10. Ouachita had 14 offensive rebounds in the game, while Southern Nazarene had seven. The Lady Tigers'
Kori Bullard saw her first action of the season after playing in the GAC Volleyball Championships semi-finals on Friday. She finished with six points, five rebounds and two blocks in 10 minutes of play.
The Lady Tigers' next game will be played at home against Texas A&M-Commerce on Wednesday, Nov. 24. Tip-off will be at 1 p.m.
