DURANT, Okla. - Despite taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Ouachita Tigers fell to the Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm, 10-4, on Monday. Kyle Alexander led the offense for Ouachita, recording two hits and one run batted in.

In the top of the first, Justin Weigle walked and later scored on an error by Southeastern (11-13, 6-6 GAC). The Savage Storm took the lead, however, in the second inning with three runs on three hits. Southeastern later added two more runs in the third inning to take a 5-1 lead.

After scoring four runs in the sixth and one in the seventh, the Savage Storm took a 10-1 lead with two innings to play. The Tigers attempted a comeback in the top of the ninth, when Aaron Studdard led off with a walk.

Later in the inning, Preston Speers walked with the bases loaded, scoring Studdard and cutting the deficit to 10-2. Alexander then followed with an RBI after being hit by a pitch, and Victor Draijer singled to right field to allowed Weigle to score Ouachita's fourth run. After the run scored, however, Southeastern recorded the final out of the contest to secure the win.

John Franklin Matros started on the mound for the Tigers, but was replaced by Jayme Lovelace after 5.1 innings. Kason Kimbrell and Jorden Lawrence finished out the game for Ouachita, pitching an inning each.

Ouachita (6-14, 4-8 GAC) will return to action on Tuesday, March 15, when the Tigers travel to Searcy, Ark. to take on Harding. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
