ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' men's basketball team fell to the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University on Saturday in Magnolia by a final of 69-67. Lakee Westbrook led Ouachita with 18 points, including five three-pointers.

Mahlon Martin scored 12 and 10 respectively. It was the second loss in-a-row for Ouachita who now stand at 8-7 overall and 6-5 in conference play.
The Muleriders opened the game with a 9-0 run while the Tigers missed their first four shots of the game.
Justin McCleary got the Tigers on the board with a three and then followed it up with a jumper to cut the SAU lead to four. With 15:42 left remaining in the first,
Jordan Corbitt knocked down a three and started a run of 14 consecutive points by the Tigers. The run was capped by Lakee Westbrook's long-range three to give the Tigers a 19-11 lead with 11:34 to play in the first. Ouachita held their lead until the final minutes of the first half, when SAU tied it at 35-35. That score would hold heading into halftime.
Carven Holcolmbe scored all 16 of his points in the second half to lead Ouachita. The senior went 7-11 from the floor in the final period. Southern Arkansas grabbed a lead early in the second half and held it until the 11:57 mark. Holcolmbe scored in the paint off the pass by Corbitt to give Ouachita their first lead in the half since the opening possession. Mahlon Martin knocked down a three with 6:42 to play putting the Tigers up 61-57. The four-point lead was the team's largest of the second half.With 4:57 left to play, Holcolmbe knocked down two free throws to give his team a 65-63 lead. SAU scored the next six points to build a 69-67 lead. The Tigers had a chance to win at the buzzer after a steal by Westbrook. He got the ball to Corbitt, who's three-point attempt fell just short.
Ouachita travels to Oklahoma next week to face Southern Nazarene (Jan. 26) and Oklahoma Baptist (Jan. 28).
